Thanks Chance. It is awesome! I suggest catching it in western Utah and riding to Reno. Great vistas and quiet. Couple cool towns to see, the nicest which is Eureka. There is also an old pony express stop near Fallon, Nv that has good food and cold beer. You will not be disappointed.

I have always wanted to drive this road. Lonely, desolate highways fascinate me. You've painted this fantastically well. It really takes me there!

Paul K Hill replied:

Thanks Chance! Go give it a ride and do some painting while you're there. You will love it.

Artist's Description

This is a painting of Highway 50, "the loneliest road in America", between Austin Nevada and Reno. The cloud cover has created interesting shadow images on the distant mountains and across the highway and desert. There are a lot of places on highway 50 that look like this. The highway disappears in the distance. The perfect place to ride my Harley and get lost in thought. Not a bad place to paint a picture either.

I feel like we need to capture moments in time of places, buildings, cars, etc., before they are all gone. It is my intent to do as good a job as I can to make a scene artistically correct and visually pleasing while still capturing the essence of the subject. I also enjoy plein air painting where you will see a more impressionistic approach to my work. This is a result of paintings that are...
