This old grain elevator in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, was where my grandfather worked over 50 years ago. I also drove a grain truck that emptied it's contents here when I was in high school. It remains an icon in my hometown though the highest tower is now gone. I don't believe the elevator is in use any longer and is now a relic from the past.
Paul Hill lives and paints in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Born and raised in Idaho, I enjoy painting subjects that are local, regional and familiar. Coeur d'Alene is a destination resort on the shores of Lake Coeur d'Alene. The lake, old buildings, cars, landscapes, wildlife and local scenes are the subject of many of my "Americana like" paintings. I feel like we need to capture moments in time of places, buildings, cars, etc., before they are all gone. It is my intent to do as good a job as I can to make a scene artistically correct and visually pleasing while still capturing the essence of the subject.
